There’s no better place to celebrate the Fourth of July than in America’s capital. One of the most patriotic events on July 4 in Washington, D.C., is the annual National Independence Day Parade.
The 4th of July celebrations in Washington, DC are among the most attended events of the year and many people arrive early to stake out a seat on the lawn. There are plenty of activities scheduled throughout the day to keep the whole family busy.
The 2013 National Independence Day Parade starts promptly at 11:45am on Constitution Avenue and proceeds from 7th to 17th Street. Hundreds of thousands spectators look on as a slew of fife and drum corps, floats, bands, military special units, drill teams, national dignitaries, celebrities, and giant balloons stroll by.
The National Independence Day Parade is free to attend and open to the public. Be sure to wear your red, white, and blue!
